- The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, do I love in the truth?
- Beloved, do I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth?
- For did I rejoice greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth?
- Have I no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth?
- Beloved, doest thou faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers?
- Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well?
- Because that for his name's sake did they go forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles?
- Ought we therefore to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth?
- I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not?
- Wherefore, if I come, will I remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words? and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church?
- Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good? Is he that doeth good of God: but hath he that doeth evil not seen God?
- Hath Demetrius good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and bear we also record; and know ye that our record is true?
- Had I many things to write, but will I not with ink and pen write unto thee?
- But trust shall I shortly see thee, and shall we speak face to face? Peace be to thee? Our friends salute thee? Greet the friends by name?
- Were the heavens and the earth thus finished, and all the host of them?
- And on the seventh day did God end his work which he had made? And did he rest on the seventh day from all his work which he had made?
- And did God bless the seventh day, and sanctify it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made?
- Are these the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
- And was every plant of the field before it in the earth, and before every herb of the field did it grow: for had not the LORD God caused it to rain upon the earth, and was there not a man to till the ground?
- But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground?
- And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul?
- And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed?
- And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil?
- And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads?
- Was the name of the first Pison: is that it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold?
- And is the gold of that land good: is there bdellium and the onyx stone?
- And is the name of the second river Gihon: is the same that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia?
- And is the name of the third river Hiddekel: is it that which goeth toward the east of Assyria? And is the fourth river Euphrates?
- And did the LORD God take the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it?
- And the LORD God command the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
- But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die?
- And did the LORD God say, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him?
- And out of the ground did the LORD God form every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and bring them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, was that the name thereof?
- And did Adam give names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but was there for Adam not found an help meet for him?
- And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept? And he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof?
- And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man?
- And did Adam say, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man?
- Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh?
- And were they both naked, the man and his wife, and were they not ashamed?
- And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, were they all with one accord in one place?
- And suddenly did there come a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and did it fill all the house where they were sitting?
- And did there appear unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and did it sit upon each of them?
- And were they all filled with the Holy Ghost, and begin to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance?
- And were there dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven?
- Now when was this noised abroad? Did the multitude come together, and were they confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language?
- And were they all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
- And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
- Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia?
- Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes?
- Cretes and Arabians, do we hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God?
- And were they all amazed, and were they in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
- Did others mocking say, These men are full of new wine.?
- But did Peter, standing up with the eleven, lift up his voice, and say unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words?
- For are these not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day?
- But is this that which was spoken by the prophet Joel?
- And shall it come to pass in the last days, saith God, will I pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and shall your sons and your daughters prophesy, and shall your young men see visions, and shall your old men dream dreams?
- And on my servants and on my handmaidens will I pour out in those days of my Spirit; and shall they shall prophesy?
- And will I shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke?
- Shall the sun be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come?
- And shall it come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved?
- Men of Israel, hear ye these words? Is Jesus of Nazareth a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know?
- Being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, have ye taken him, and by wicked hands have ye crucified and slain?
- Is he whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it?
- For did David speak concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved?
- Therefore did my heart rejoice, and was my tongue glad? moreover also shall my flesh rest in hope?
- Because wilt thou not leave my soul in hell? neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption?
- Hhast thou made known to me the ways of life? shalt thou make me full of joy with thy countenance?
- Men and brethren, may I freely speak unto you of the patriarch David? Is he both dead and buried, and is his sepulchre with us unto this day?
- Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne?
- Did he seeing this before speak of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption?
- This Jesus did God raise up, whereof we all are witnesses?
- Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, hath he shed forth this, which ye now see and hear?
- For is David not ascended into the heavens: but did he say himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
- Until I make thy foes thy footstool?
- Therefore let all the house of Israel ask assuredly, hath God made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ?
- Now when they heard this, were they pricked in their heart? and did they say unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
- Then did Peter say unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost?
- For is the promise unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call?
- And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation?
- Then were they that gladly received his word baptized? and the same day were there added unto them about three thousand souls?
- And did they continue stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers?
- And did fear come upon every soul? and were many wonders and signs done by the apostles?
- And were all that believed together, and did all have things common?
- And did they sell their possessions and goods, and part them to all men, as every man had need?
- And did they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart?
- Did they praise God, and have favour with all the people? And did the Lord add to the church daily such as should be saved?
- Did it come to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed?
- (And was this taxing first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria?)
- And did all go to be taxed, every one into his own city?
- And did Joseph also go up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem (because he was of the house and lineage of David)
- To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child?
- And was it so, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered?
- And did she bring forth her firstborn son, and wrap him in swaddling clothes, and lay him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn?
- And were there in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night?
- And, lo, did the angel of the Lord come upon them, and did the glory of the Lord shine round about them: and were they sore afraid?
- And did the angel say unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people?
- For is unto you born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord?
- And shall this be a sign unto you? Shall ye find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger?
- And suddenly was there with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
- Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men?
- And did it come to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us?
- And did they come with haste, and find Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger?
- And when they had seen it, did they make known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child?
- And did all they that heard it wonder at those things which were told them by the shepherds?
- But did Mary keep all these things, and ponder them in her heart?
- And did the shepherds return, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them?
- And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, was his name called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb?
- And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, did they bring him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord?
- (Is it written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord?)
- And is to sacrifice a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons, in accordance with the law of the Lord?
- And, behold, was there a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and was the same man just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and was the Holy Ghost upon him?
- And was it revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ?
- And did he come by the Spirit into the temple? And when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
- Did he then take him up in his arms, and bless God, and say,
- Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word?
- For have mine eyes seen thy salvation,
- Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people?
- A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel?
- And did Joseph and his mother marvel at those things which were spoken of him?
- And did Simeon bless them, and say unto Mary his mother, Behold, is this child set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel? and for a sign which shall be spoken against?
- (Yea, shall a sword pierce through thy own soul also?) may the thoughts of many hearts be revealed?
- And was there one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser? Was she of a great age, and had she lived with an husband seven years from her virginity?
- And was she a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day?
- And coming in that instant did she give thanks likewise unto the Lord, and speak of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem?
- And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, did they return into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth?
- And did the child grow, and wax strong in spirit, filled with wisdom? And was the grace of God upon him?
- Now did his parents go to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover?
- And when he was twelve years old, did they go up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast?
- And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, did the child Jesus tarry behind in Jerusalem? And did Joseph and his mother know not of it?
- But did they, supposing him to have been in the company, go a day's journey? And did they seek him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance?
- And when they found him not, did they turn back again to Jerusalem, seeking him?
- And did it come to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions?
- And were all that heard him astonished at his understanding and answers?
- And when they saw him, were they amazed? And did his mother say unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold, have thy father and I sought thee sorrowing?
- And did he say unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
- And did they understand not the saying which he spake unto them?
- And did he go down with them, and come to Nazareth, and was he subject unto them? But did his mother keep all these sayings in her heart?
- And did Jesus increase in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man?
- In the beginning was the Word? And was the Word with God, and was the Word God?
- Was the same in the beginning with God?
- Were all things were made by him? And without him was not any thing made that was made?
- In him was life? And was the life the light of men?
- And did the light shineth in darkness? And did the darkness comprehend it not?
- Was there was a man sent from God? Was his name John?
- Did the same come for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe?
- Was he not that Light, but sent to bear witness of that Light?
- Was that the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world?
- Was he in the world, and was the world made by him, and did the world know him not?
- Did he come unto his own, and did his own receive him not?
- But as many as received him, to them did he give power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name?
- Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God?
- And was the Word made flesh, and did it dwell among us, (and did we behold his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth?
- Did John bare witness of him, and cry, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me?
- And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace?
- For was the law given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ?
- Hath no man seen God at any time? Hath he declared him the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father?
- And is this the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
- And did he confess, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ?
- And did they ask him, What then? Art thou Elias? And did he say, I am not? Art thou that prophet? And did he answer, No?
- Then did they say unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us? What sayest thou of thyself?
- Did he say, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias?
- And were they which were sent of the Pharisees?
- And did they ask him, and say unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
- Did John answer them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not?
- Is it he, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose?
- Were these things done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing?
- The next day did John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and did he saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world?
- Is this he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me?
- And did I know him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water?
- And did John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him?
- And did I know him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, did the same say unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost?
- And did I see, and bare record that this is the Son of God?
- Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples?
- And looking upon Jesus as he walked, did he say, Behold the Lamb of God?
- And did the two disciples hear him speak, and did they follow Jesus?
- Then did Jesus turn, and see them following, and say unto them, What seek ye? Did they say unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
- Did he say unto them, Come and see? Did they come and see where he dwelt, and abide with him that day: for was it about the tenth hour?
- Was one of the two which heard John speak, and follow him, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother?
- Did he first findeth his own brother Simon, and say unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ?
- And did he bring him to Jesus? And when Jesus beheld him, did he say, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone?
- The day following did Jesus go forth into Galilee, and find Philip, and say unto him, Follow me?
- Now was Philip of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter?
- Did Philip findeth Nathanael, and say unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph?
- And did Nathanael say unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Did Philip say unto him, Come and see?
- Did Jesus see Nathanael coming to him, and say of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile?
- Did Nathanael say unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Did Jesus answer and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee?
- Did Nathanael answer and say unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel?
- Did Jesus answer and say unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these?
- And did he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man?
- Is the man blessed that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful?
- But is his delight in the law of the LORD? And in his law doth he meditate day and night?
- And shall he be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season? Shall his leaf also not wither? And shall whatsoever he doeth prosper?
- Are the ungodly not so? Are they like the chaff which the wind driveth away?
- Therefore shall the ungodly not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous?
- For doth the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous? But shall the way of the ungodly perish?
- In the beginning, did God create the heaven and the earth?
- And was the earth without form and void? And was darkness upon the face of the deep? And did the Spirit of God move upon the face of the waters?
- And did God say, Let there be light? And was there light?
- And did God see the light, that it was good? And did God divide the light from the darkness?
- And did God call the light Day, and did he call the darkness Night? And were the evening and the morning the first day?
- And did God say, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters?
- And did God make the firmament, or divide the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament? And was it so?
- And did God call the firmament Heaven? And were the evening and the morning the second day?
- And did God say, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear? And was it so?
- And did God call the dry land Earth? And did he call the gathering together of the waters Seas? and did God see that it was good?
- And did God say, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yield seed, and the fruit tree yield fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth? And was it so?
- And did the earth bring forth grass, and herb yield seed after his kind, and the tree yield fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind? And did God see that it was good?
- And were the evening and the morning the third day?
- And did God say, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years?
- And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth? and was it so?
- And did God make two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night? Did he make the stars also?
- And did God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
- And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness? And did God see that it was good?
- And were the evening and the morning the fourth day?
- And did God say, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven?
- And did God create great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind? And did God see that it was good?
- And did God bless them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth?
- And were the evening and the morning the fifth day?
- And did God say, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind? And was it so?
- And did God make the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind? And did God see that it was good?
- And did God say, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth?
- So did God create man in his own image? In the image of God created he him? Male and female created he them?
- And did God bless them? And did God say unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth?
- And did God say, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat?
- And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat? And was it so?
- And did God see every thing that he had made, and, behold, was it very good? And were the evening and the morning the sixth day?
